Dev Diwali, also known as Dev Deepawali, is celebrated in Varanasi 15 days after Diwali, on the full moon night of Kartik month. While regular Diwali is celebrated by humans, Dev Diwali is believed to be celebrated by the Gods, who descend upon the Ghats of Varanasi to commemorate Lord Shiva’s victory over the demon Tripurasura.
